"Five stars obsession for the oatmeal whoopie pie! Wow! Best I’ve ever had. Crispy yet doughy and chewy oatmeal cookie, with this soft whipped vanilla cream. Perfect beyond. Also had the roast beef special sandwich with a beet sauce, which didn’t have that bloody, fatty roast beef taste so would try a different sandwich. But that whoopie pie! Would come back for that and more baked goods. Loved the idyllic outdoor seating on the sidewalk and overall welcoming warmth of the place. 5 stars!!!"

"This place is a gem! One of my fav lunch spots. Everything is scratch made. A true neighborhood spot. Get the deluxe chicken salad sandwich, seems so unassuming but this sandwich is amazing!! Crave-able! And if you can’t do bread their salads are so delicious and equally crave-able!"

"Middle street foods has been through generations of excellent food and service to Newburyport and surrounding towns. This newest generation is spot on for awesome made here from scratch every day kinds of foods. The standard breakfast sandwich is a keeper! With a homemade in-house English muffin… Can’t beat it. The baked goods are to die for, and coffee is yummy! Don’t miss this place. it’s just a smidge off the main street. Turn down middle Street folks you won’t be disappointed."

"I’ve been to Middle Street twice. The overall quality of the food is excellent; it wouldn’t surprise me if it was pretty much the best bite in Newburyport. The Sourdough Bread used for the sandwiches is incredibly light, uniform, and tender. The dude who makes the sandwiches is an Artist. The first time, I got items to go and later found That the counter attendant had put one wrong item in the bag. The second time I went, I brought this up and the same individual made no response. Also, I found a hair baked into my ham and cheese croissant. I don’t consider this disqualifying since I’ve had it happen at several high-end establishments and I guess I feel like it could happen anywhere, however, there’s no email on the website to which one could Discreetly inform them of the fact something I would do based on the certainty that if it were my establishment, I’d want to know."
